How to Take Great Pictures for Online Baby Photo Contests

A good photo of a baby can be difficult to take since babies are so curious and want to move around all of the time.  This challenge can be tackled with time and patience on the parents or photographers part.  Getting the right photo can be done if you take the right steps.

Takes loads of pictures as with any hobby or event practice makes perfect and the more photos you shoot the better selection you will have to choose from.  

Choose a simple background for your photo.  This will distract the viewers eye from anything else but the beautiful baby in the photo. Background such as flowers, or pastel baby colors work well. 

Try to take a photo of the child's personality.  If you are trying to pose the baby too much the photo may reflect this. Instead snap photos of the baby while they are playing, laughing, or doing something they love.

If possible avoid putting hats, towels or blankets on a baby especially anything around the head this may distract from the child's face and other features.
